Back Up & Running

Well, it took too fricken long, but I was able to reconstruct the lost chapter of Notsferatu to the point where I was happy with it.  If I ever get the original chapter off my crapped out Flash drive I’ll put it up and let people argue which was better.

Thank you, by the way, to everyone who sent in suggestions on how to recover the Flash drive data.  We’re still working on it.

PBN is up on it’s own website!  You can still link to it from Ontheblob.net, along with the archive.

Back to work on the story!

Technology Sucks. Especially When It’s User Error.

The flash drive I use to hold the PBN and Notsferatu files crapped out on me last night while I was prepping the final edit for this week’s Notsferatu installment. Now it won’t register in any of the computers. If it’s really dead then I’ve lost the next couple of weeks of PBN, Chapter 12 of Notsferatu, and several chapters of the other books I’m working on. I’m hoping I can pull the electrons off of the damn thing, and if anyone has any suggestions, it’s a Sandisk 1G. Email any suggestions to wm@ontheblob.net. If nothing works, I’ll spend tonight rewriting Notsferatu and it will be posted, at least in part, over the next couple of days. PBN will go up as normal Thursday morning.

Non Rant Updates

I put up the latest serial installment of Notsferatu.  The posting last Wednesday was pretty short, I’ve made up for it this time.

I’m looking for an affordable scanner so I can do Guys in Robes.  Unlike PBN, GiR is going to be hand-drawn.   Not that that’ll be anymore impressive than PBN, but it will look different.

Not since the late 70’s.

I suspect this weekend will see more groups playing the classic ‘Tomb of Horrors’ adventure module than at any time in almost 30 years.

If you’re a fan of steampunk, Girl Genius, or noir pulp fiction, you should check out this site:

They forgot goggles, but hey, we all know, the goggles, they actually do nothing.

I’m trying to get Notsferatu updated on both Wednesdays and Saturdays now, we’ll see.  I am also starting on a series of short (one page or less) stories that are more classic fantasy, but with a twist.  Next, a short stories that involves a large squirrel.

I’ll get political in my next post, to give folks something to fling mud at me about.

It Was If Dice Everywhere Rolled A 1, & Basements Suddenly Went Silent

If you have any geek cred, you know E. Gary Gygax has died. If you don’t know why this is sad, you don’t have any geek cred.

My gaming group is doing Tomb of Horrors this Sunday with straight up 3d6 character generation and none of the 2e/3e munchkin crap.

If you listen carefully, you can hear the dice rollin’ in Heaven.

Non rant Updates

PBN is following its normal schedule, and Notsferatu has been updated.  Nots is also now listed by chapters, to make it easier to follow the serialization.

PBN, Innocence Abroad, and more Notsferatu

Reasonably big developments over at Ontheblob.net: the Paper Bag Ninja is now officially started, and will be updated (roughly) every Monday and Thursday. Notsferatu is updated, see what happens when everyones favorite geek vamps try their first night out on the town; I also published the adventures of the Paycheck Gnome and his wacky travels and travails as he globetrotted around the world. Email contact information is posted, so if you have something you’ve been dying to say to me, now’s your chance!

This blog that’s going to make people mad? It’s coming. It just took a lower priority.
